Just about everyone I know loves best movies about the enlightenment. Whether it’s going to the theater with your friends or family, sharing popcorn and enjoying the surround sound and big screen, or just popping in a DVD at home and relaxing while you watch your favorite flick. Movies are a big part of our modern day culture.
Another big part of our modern day culture is the internet. Many of us wouldn’t know how to survive with the convenience the World Wide Web provides us. From communicating with loved ones, clients and associates, to looking up that vital piece of information, to immersing ourselves in the world of online video games. The internet is a luxury that is most welcome in our society.
With high speed internet and the technology that is available today it is just so easy to get your favourite movie in downloadable format. Imagine deciding what movie you wanted to watch, heading to your PC and choosing it and being able to watch almost instantly? Well, that is certainly possible. Downloadable movies are now available.
The marriage of these two staples of modern society is nothing new, per se, but it is vastly growing and is becoming more and more popular. And I am, of course, referring to the advent of downloadable movies you can watch right on your PC or Mac, as I referred to at the onset of this article. Those same movies we wait in line to see at the multi-plex, or go out of our way to rent at the local Blockbuster, or wait for it to arrive in the mail via a service like Netflix. These same movies we can now easily watch right on our computer screens!
These downloadable movies come in many forms also. There are paid downloads like that offered by Vongo, and through memberships with iTunes or Netflix. Then there are even some movies available for free downloads via sites like Watch-Movies, Movies Found Online, or even via network sites like NBC and ABC Family.
Ever providing convenience for its users, the internet opens up many options. Instead of going out in the rain for that new DVD, or waiting for it to arrive in the mail, we can sign up for a small fee and watch fairly new movies on some of the paid services, or older movies and made for television movies on some of the network sites. As computers become more practical and inexpensive it’s foreseeable that watching movies online, with their relatively low costs, could potentially become the preferred method to many.
And since we’re talking about downloadable movies, we have to mention illegal downloads as well. There are many, many, many sites offering torrents for file-sharing movies for free. These downloads include DVD rips, satellite feed rips, and even video camera recordings of films either just released or bootlegged, thus infringing on copyrights. While the courts have been trying to crack down on these illegal sites, with so many it’s hard to track them all down.
Regardless of how you obtain your downloadable movies, though, the point is that watching movies on your computer is the most convenient and fastest way to see your favorite flick. And if you have surround speakers and a large monitor, what else do you need?
Charly Leetham loves movies and after having owned a bricks and mortar DVD business has decided to embrace the online technology and test out Online Movie Downloads. Initially very skeptical about the whole thing, Charly has found that there are legal downloads that provide good quality movies.
