Why Did Jesus Christ Come To The World

Why would Jesus leave the comfort of heaven, where He was God, and come to earth, where He would be mocked and killed? This question when answered will cause you to appreciate the love of God for mankind. And an understanding of the answer will help you hold unto your salvation in jesus christ gospel of love. So, in this article, we will look at why Jesus came to the earth.

One major reason why Jesus came into this world was for God to demonstrate His love for us. Such that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. For, He gave His Son Jesus that whoever will believe in Christ will not perish but have everlasting life.

The state of the fallen man, full of shame and reproach, wasn’t pleasing to God. For it was contrary to what He purposed for man. For His plan was for man to subdue the earth and have dominion over all He created. Unfortunately, when Adam disobeyed God and ate the forbidden fruit, this plan was thwarted. And the devil took the original place of man on earth, subduing and having dominion on earth.

However, the Lord’s love for man would not allow Him to leave man in a defeated state. And this is why He sent Jesus to restore man back to his original state of authority. However, man can only receive this when he reconnects to God through Christ Jesus.

All through the Old Testament, the prophets prophesied about the coming of Christ: His birth, why He was to come, and what will be done to him. And all these were the will of the Father, which He spoke about through the prophets. Therefore, Jesus came to fulfill the law and in the process do the will of His Father.

Now, it is worth noting that if part of what the prophets said concerning Jesus happened, then whatever is remaining will also happen. And that includes Christ’s second coming.

According to the law, without the shedding of blood, there will be no remission of sin. So, to remit our sins, blood must be shed. However, the blood of animals couldn’t do it. Rather, the sacrifices were yearly reminders of their sins. But God wanted to totally cancel the charges of sin against man. So, Christ’s blood had to be shed as a permanent solution to the remission of sin. And He did it once and for all, never to go through it again. So, by this one time sacrifice, we are justified and saved from God’s wrath.

Death on the cross was God’s plan for Christ. This is because anyone who hangs on the cross is cursed. And Christ needed to redeem the world from all the curses of the law. So, Christ took our place on the cross, and all the curses that were supposed to be ours came on Him. And when He died and rose again, He redeemed us from them all. As such anyone who receives Christ receives redemption from all curses and blessings of Abraham.

Also, Christ nailed all the handwriting of ordinances against us (which were contrary to us) on the cross. So, all the demands that were legally in force but hostile to us, Christ removed from the way and nailed them on the cross. Therefore, don’t allow any doctrine contrary to God’s word to cage you in. Though these practices have a form of wisdom, they don’t honour God.
